so i accidentally strippped the hole in the manifold where the bolt that holds down the egr goes. i want to rethread it, but im worried about getting metal flakes in the manifold. any suggestions?

If the threads are deep enough you may be able to put a longer bolt in. If not you can put grease on the tap and it will catch the shaving. Your best bet would be a helicoil ,then you could use the same bolt. shawn

If I am thinking of the same bolt, then you shouldnt need to worry about it. It doesnt actually go INTO the interior of the plenum. Just dont rethread any deeper than it already goes and you should be ok. That is, if I am thinking of the same one.
Dont feel bad. I too am having EGR locale issues (as seen in another thread).
