Just signed it, thanks for making me aware of that. I will let all the troops out here know too.

Thanks for all the support from the homefront.
I am currently here at Camp Stryker here on Victory Base Complex and I must admit it is true. My medics are out supporting missions every day (one just got hit by a blister agent today and went back out to the fight) and treating local kids medical ailments - and I must admit the media is nowhere to be seen.
Not that it matters to them, they are out there in harms way and treating both Iraqis and US Soldiers and civilians irregardless.
Most of us dont really care about the politicians and their posturing - on either side, and political action committees and lobbyists using us for a pawn. We are here to do a job-not swill martini lunches and look indignant.
On the lighter side, cant wait to get back to Fort Lewis and do some work on my 1999 VX-saving up for a Load Warrior and an exhaust system.

I am a military brat...my uncle, dad and fiance are included...I will pass this on. Thank you.
Thank you all who help protect our peace and families here back home. It is most appreciated. Be safe, and God speed your return home!

Doug, when you say "blister agent" are you saying that some form or another of mustard gas is being used offesively in Iraq? I was not aware that any CBRN hazards were currently present on the battlefield over there.
I ask because I have a particular interest in NBC technoculture and I have a great interest in personal NBC protective gear, particularly respirators. Are you guys still using the M40A1/2 series masks? Or have you been issued the new Avon M50s yet?

But yes NBC is present here on the battlefield just not in large Soviet-style amounts or usage- I have seen it personally. It makes Stars and Stripes so its public knowledge, just guess it doesnt make the US News.
BTW-We still use the M40/JLIST suits.
Yeah, I am friends with a colonel in the Chemical Corps. He has showed me several examples of the new M-50, but I guess it just isn't being issued in the field yet.
That is scary that there are NBC hazards on the ground over there, no matter how big or small. Good thing there is no VX....
Take care,
