    Turn Signal Flasher Replacement

I received the new LEDs and a new flasher today. I searched the forum and could not find details on where the flasher is so that I can replace it. I saw that it was under the instrument panel and above the kick panel but I'm not sure what a kick panel is.

Could someone please be more specific on where the flasher is?

    Thanks
    ---------

    Hey everyone,

I found the flasher and successfully replaced it. I must say, however, the new blinker LEDs that I've ordered are a disappointment. They are not as bright as the standard 1156 bulbs that were already in there. Nontheless I'll keep them. I don't think autoluminations.com takes returns but I could be wrong. I'll keep them anway.

If I had to do it all over again I would not change out the flashers.

For reference, the LEDs I used to replace the flasher bulbs are:
Tower II 20 LED, Amber, 1156 model (quantity 4, total of $71.96 for all 4 bulbs, plus $15 for the flasher unit).

I found that the LEDs we not quite as bright as the incandescent versions but, due to the instant on and off of te LED they attract more attention.

    Here's a review I wrote a while back

LED tech has come a long ways and gotten a lot cheaper in the last couple of years. The Koreans (Cree) especially have been pushing the envelope. There ought to be amber blinker LEDs that are brighter than stock incandescent available from somewhere.

Edit: In fact, looking at the page at http://autolumination.com/1156_1157.htm I would expect the "3 watt super star" or the "Eagle Eye II" to be the brightest of the bunch. I have a custom flashlight that uses a white luxeon led like the one in the Eagle Eye II and it is blindingly, painfully, bright.

What I would really like is a set of LED replacements that are 3-4x brighter than stock. Then I could replace the front turn signal lenses with clear, but highly tinted so that they would sort of blend in with the cladding when not blinking. I doubt anyone will make off the shelf parts that are that bright though.
