Please help identify missing part - plug?

Hi everybody. I am looking for an advice on transmission - i recently discovered a big pond of transmission fluid under our VX, which was stationed for about 3 weeks after 1000 miles trip. The leak appeared to come from an opening in transmission oil pan which i mistook for an overfill plug hole first. I have trouble finding the part name for the missing plug in the documentation and i need to order it by phone. Can please anyone help me to identify the type of plug I need here looking at attached pictures? I need a catalog name to be able to order it from dealer. I already got transmission oil filter & gasket replacemnt, now i need this plug to be able to flush transmission. I'll appreciate any comments on this matter as i am not much experienced with VX maintenance.
    Thank you.

Arrow I had to go look...

I just went out under mine with a flashlight and the calipers.

It's a 3/4" oil galley plug. OR, a 3/4" freeze plug would also work.

    The good news:
It should be an over the counter part at any auto parts store.

    The bad news:
You'll need to clean the hole with a rag, then tap the plug in with a hammer and a drift.

Yeah... that exhaust pipe is in the way...

    ...good luck!
Sold the VX 11-21-07. It was fun while I had it!
    Thanks for all the help.

Do yourself a favor, drop that tranny pan, wipe it out well, change the filter and refill. You don't know how long it was off and what found it's way in there. It wouldn't take much to create havoc.

Sure thing Chopper, i already got new filter gasket and all the fluid i need. Thing is that I am still not sure about the type of plug i need. Dino offered oil galley plug but my local stores do not have this type. Freeze plug they have but it is basicaly a dolt with a cone rubber piece and a nut. It seems like i would need to insert the bolt from the inside and then put on the cone rubberfrm the outside and secure it with the nut. I am not sure if that rubber can withstand temperature there. Manual inspection suggetst that the missing plug had threads on the outer side and hex hole to drive it in - which is way different from the freeze plug concept. Can anyone shed more light on this? maybe make a picture of how original part looks in your VX? Dealer seems to be unable to help me overth phone and my budget does not allow me towing the cdar to the dealer at the moment

This is the best I could do online. Hard part to source, but this one looks OK.

    It's a 3/4" freeze plug. I forgot, it's a GM transmission so parts are SAE I think.

I can't say for sure it's metric or sae, but I believe our GM tranny is made in France...just to throw a little more confusion out there.

I measured with a micrometer as best I could. It's at about 19mm which is very close to 3/4" It should work. For less than $10 it's worth a try if nothing else is available in his locale.
