Talking VX tows 49 Ford 2 ton flatbed!

Yep. I towed our ol Mamas Fish House 49 Ford about two miles today. Fuel filter got clogged and it quit. I happened to be passing by so I pulled over to see what was up. I used the VX to tow it to where you see it here...

It had stalled on a slight hill. The extra fuel demand combined with a clogged fuel filter made it quit. Wouldn't restart.
We hooked up a tow strap to Zuzu, took out the slack and I fired her up. I put it in 4 low, selected first gear and as I let my foot off the brake we began to move at idle!!! I then shifted to drive and off we went like a charm. I kept it under 20 mph because we were on pavement. (Don't worry, all my tires are the same. )

It pulled it like it wasn't even there. Impressive. Everyone at work was pretty amazed how "that little thing towed the 49???"

    I love my Zuzu VX!!

    Thanks for all the help.

    Thumbs up Sweet!

Way to go! I love stories that have the VX blowing away people's ideas of what "that little thing" can do...

It's amazing what little beasties can do. I towed a broke down full size Ford P'up down the interstate one time (years ago) with a Suzuki Samurai. That really took notice.

On the other hand though, I used to have a picture of me towing the Samurai across the yard using a John Deere lawn tractor. It was a cool pic but I lost all those old photos in the divorce (along with the house & my sanity).

Get some fat meat under them fenders and they wont call it "that little thing" anymore.

I love the look of Monster Mudders on a VX that is 4 wheeling but can you really accuse the stock 245x60x18 tires as being little?

LOL, you realize he means tires, right? Not fatty meat from the `ol Mamas Fish House.

Wouldn't imagine you'd have time to figure out the mileage.

As far as meat goes try those 285/60-18 Nitto Grapplers. Since I've put them on my comment quota has increased considerably!

Edit: just caught the mpg reference..lol.

    Well comments are nice...

but, I really would like to hear about the MPG when bigger than stock tires are mounted on a Vehicross.

Figures... anyone with big tires know their MPG?????

    Thanks!

    Arrow

I'm getting around 16-17 hwy. & 10-12 in town...my tire/wheel combination tips the scales at 100 lb. per.
I'd no doubt get better mileage around town if I didn't have a horrible addiction to the forces of acceleration.
Also supercharged, K&N cone filter & Borla muffler with 3+" of lift.
