    CV joints revisited

I just ordered the remanufactured axels for the VX from here:

    http://shop.isuzupartstore.com/buy.p...e=arc&s=1&my=1

They list them at $72.41 but I talked them down to $68.00 because I was ordering both sides. There is also a $75.00 core charge per side. The grand total was $268.00.

I know. I know. It sounds too good to be true so I'll probably get burned but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'll update as soon as I get confirmation that they were sent.

Note: they have the same part number for both sides so if you order for only one side, make sure you get the right (I mean 'correct') one.

are you shipping the old ones back to get the core charge back?? That's usually how that works. If they won't take them back, they shouldn't be charging for the cores.

Don't order from them. They did the same thing the other place did (may even be the same company with a different address (the page looks the same)). I had them check twice when I ordered that they were in stock (they were) 3 days later I received an email that they are out of stock and a refund was issued. They also indicated that there is an alternate brand available in the email but when you call, they indicate there is not. When I placed the order, I also asked if there were any other vehicles that use this particular axel & they said there were not. When I pressed him about how the out of stock situation could have happened - he said that there were 8 orders processed between when I placed my order and when it was to be shipped. I find all of this difficult to believe. I'll be calling later today to complain to a manager to see if there is anything that can be done. I'll keep you posted.

    Don't order from here:

    http://www.alldiscountautoparts.com/...e=arc&s=1&my=1

    or from here:

    http://shop.isuzupartstore.com/buy.p...e=arc&s=1&my=1

All indications are that they are the same company & can not provide you with an axel even if they indicate they can.

I'm still searching. RAXELS & Automotive Parts Network appear to be good companies but don't have the specs to build them. If anyone knows where to get the specs, let me know & I'll see if they can help.

For specs you may try emailing Grampa Bob (GreenDragon on the board). He has had his out numerous times and has had them rebuilt by a shop so he may have the specs. Another person might be Swordy. Both are very knowledgable and have lots of experience with axles (pulling and replacing).

    different approach now:

I've contacted several places that MAY be able to fab replacement CVs for us. I'll keep you posted.

BTW the places I've contacted are: RAXELS, Proformancepros & RCV.

If they ask, how many of you may be interested in purchasing CVs?

He has been trying to sell if for about a year now. Looks kind of sad with those little tires on it. It usually has 33's on trooper wheels. I guess those were his off-road set up. Funny his son (who put up the add) didn't mention the locker, or the super charger. Looks like he removed the rear storage box/sleeping surface and re-installed the rear seat. Haven't seen Bob on here in a while. Hope all is well with him.
