Any boat over 15 feet (I think) is required to be equipped with a blower to vent the engine compartment. It's probably just a very small squirrel cage blower & electric motor. It may even come with some of the duct pipe.

I'll look on the SeaDoo to see just how big it is.

Here is a sample of what I'm talking about:

    http://www.outdoorsuperstore.com/pro...OWER&cat=62202

It's about $30.00 and uses 3" ID hose.

One of the reasons that this set up would be ideal is that it is already marine grade & designed for mounting in the engine compartment. Water ain't going to hurt it & it's designed to operate in a potentially explosive atmosphere so those pesky gas fumes aren't a concern.

NACTA ducts. Don't dirty up the airflow, and provide lots of air. Plus, I think they can be set up to pull or push. Standard equipment on most GT and LeMans cars. Wayne You can place them where you want, pretty much. Incomming at the conefilter, extraction at the rear.

It's a Lund Eclipse, available from JC Whitney & lots of other vendors...maybe ck out ebay.

And I agree with Chopper...NACA ducts would be ideal for dumping fresh air into the air box...I've gone as far as laying them out on my hood & began fabbing the necessary sheet metal...but then, I dunno, other stuph came up that seemed more important.

I stopped by boaters world on my way home yesterday and picked up the blower I was talking about and 10 feet of 3" hose. Total cost $37.78. Now I need to check into a temperature switch so I can test the concept. What temp would Y'all like for the fan to kick on at (I'm guessing 180)?

Finding the temp switch is proving difficult. Everyone carries cut off switches (NC) but no one seems to carry the cut on (NO). I have one lead & will keep looking.

I have to start over with the fan though. I gave the one I bought to my son so he could cool the amps in his car (KIDZZZ!!!)

Wow...I promised no more drunk E-bay ing after the "54 Ford pickup" (I'll show you pix soon, got the '84 Corvette donor car for the driveline and suspension bits). Need to get the metal blasted. No more VX posting behind "Bigfoot" Barley Wine..........Dub's got it........but that passenger side duct, serves no purpose. Move it back and turn it around, use it for an extractor. Use the intake, right over the filter. You want that extractor back in the tumble air.

Heh...you're far from the only guilty party when it comes to "buzzed posting" ...just that you're one of the few who'll admit to it.

I'm liking the extra extractor idea, have to see how non-linear I can get my brain to function when I finally get around to "the operation".

I found a switch that cuts on at 160F and cuts off at 140F. Does that sound like the right temp range? That was the highest temps that this distributor listed.
