    heater resistor

Hi, I seem to have the same problem as a lot of people here, the heater resistor u/s.(fan on full) I have removed the offending item but it doesnt appear to be the same as described on this site.
It is 6 sided,it is held in by 2 screws, but it only has a 3 connecting pin plug like so: __
    I I
the 6 sided plastic cover ( the bit you can see before you remove it) lifts off of a finned aluminium heatsink about 1 1/2" square revealing a 1 1/2" square circuit board which is soldered via 3 joints into the heatsink area...which I cant get into.(without unsoldering those joints)
My vericross is a jap model 97-anybody any ideas?

Fyi it appears the jap models use an infinitely variable speed fan switch(not 4 speed)this requires a 3 pin resistor. my resistor was u/s, I found a replacement in a scrapyard
(honda cr-v ,but I would think ANY car with an infinitely variable speed fan switch would do)the wiring plug fitted too
(just be sure the black lead is in the right position (same as the donor car)the other leads are live(thicker wire) and resistance select(thinner wire)
needed to trim the hole in the heater case to fit-sorted!

thats a good little bit of info to know. I wonder if the 99 US versions that don't have the auto climate control are the same way?

I would assume any vehicle that has an infinitely variable speed fan switch(not the usual 4 speed /off switch) would have a 3 pin heater resistor...
