San Diego area VXers...

I will be coming in Sat morning. Then I have to pick up my race packet and hit my hotel (Coronado Island Inn). So I would be coming from the Island. Would kind of like to check out the surf conditions though since I will be swimming through it Sun morning But I am up for options. Something easy to find though since I don't know the area to well.

Just wondering if Silver Strand is the best place to meet...it will be mobbed on sat afternoon.

When are you driving into San Diego on sat..and which way are you coming...??

It maybe easier/better to meet just off the 5 or 8 freeways.

I know a couple of good places.

I second that, Jo.
Plus, Silver Strand is rather, uhh, dull.

You'll be passing by both of us on your way there anyway, and it ain't but 20 minutes back up north (with Saturday traffic) to Jo's zip code. (PacBeach)

I think that or Crown Point would be good. Jo?
Or even Downtown is right on the other side of Coronado if you're short on time.

Lots of good food and parking at both.

You can't go wrong with Perry's, but I think they close at around 2.

Not much of a "bar" person. But pretty much up for anywhere as long as it is convinient. You guys know the area, so let me know. I'll be on the road to LA tomorrow AM. Will check in here later today and will try to find som intrnet service when I get there. If not I have Jo's # (by the way, what is the best time to get ahold of you if I need to?). So let the brain storming continue!
