rebadging?

didn't know whether to put this under modifications or vx talk so w/e

i know others out there have rebadged their babies.
somebody had a maserati(SP) for a while.
anybody else rebadged under another company?

well i did work at Honda untill yesterday and i was thinking about badging my proton as so. i wanted to drive the concept CR-VX... huh... what do we think? i thought it was kind smart thinking... jus lookin for oppinions and info on other rebadged VX's

Rebadging to a different company would suggest that they where better then Isuzu.

I do have a “Handling by Lotus” on the back of my VX.

badges I have seen on a VX include...

Chevy
Lotus (looked factory across the in place of the rear ISUZU)
Diablo
Ferrari (was repainted in a ferarri red color.. looked NICE)
Mercedes
Tonka (proton.. looked awesome!)
Nasa (mimicked the original ISUZU on the back.. very well done)

Frankly...if ya aint happy telling people its an 7-9 year old ISUZU...

Rebadging to a different company is not the way to go. Debadging gives it a sense of mystery and flow. The stock Isuzu on the back is the biggest badge I have ever seen, a little tacky. And for the love of god! Don’t put “Type R” any ware!

Mine is rebadged as a Lotus VX. (pics in my gallery)
It''s fun... People point, stare, take camera phone pics. Besides, Lotus and Isuzu have a history together and the VX can pass for a lotus with it's curvacious lines. The stickers on the center caps are really what sells it.

I think the biggest impact you can make is to let people see that...

YES it is cool...and
YES it is actually an Isuzu (a company historically known to the masses for making mundane, uninspiring, and bland products)

I have a rare 1964 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe DeVille in great original condition. It's 19ft long w/ tail fins and it still gets LESS attention than the VX.

If I do anything I'm adding MORE Isuzu badges to mine.

Save the Rebadging for...
1) The General Motors SUV Design Dept.
2) 17 yr old kids who drive Hyundai Tiburons

I wasn't really going to rebadge. I just thought it was a nice play on the two companies. (knowing that Honda and Isuzu have a history) and playing the CR-V into a concept 2 door version. Dubbing it the CR-VX (CR-V + VX)
I like the cleanliness of being debadged.
(I do have a So-Cal emblem in the grill and an So-Cal sticker on the boot)

The way I always saw it, rebadging your *insert Make* with a badge from *insert different Make* equals....



But.... it is YOUR vehicle, so do as you please. I like the totally debadged way, cause its always more fun to keep 'em guessing. I think playing with the idea of having "VX" in the re-badge is fun as well if it is intuitive.

Strangely enough, I use both my my vehicles as ads for one another. My VX has a "NASIOC.com" (North American Subaru Impreza Club) decal on the rear window while the WRX has a small "VehiCROSS.info" decal on the rear window. Sorta like like those tag frames that say "My other car is a *******", heh.

I still think it would be funny to have SeaDoo or Bombardier logos on the Proton & maybe a "Powered by Rotax". Since no one seems to know what a VX is, that should really add to the WTF expressions.

I always try to fashion my modes to look OEM. I’ve bin toying with the idea of making a better ISUZU for the back but with no success. I’m going to try something with the team skidoo bee theme. They have 2 the robot and the boxer bee, I think it will go well with the proton. I will post some pix later.
