    Fruits of this afternoon's labours

Well... I've been looking at the pics of Moab and was getting jealous so I thought I'd stick up some of mine.

The "new" wheels I fitted this afternoon have Cooper Discoverer SSTs on. I think its a good look...

I like that last one best...

I have a Trooper A-bar for the front, but I'm not sure if it will "work". I also want the rear 3 windows done in a dark smoke - as much to keep my luggage out of sight as to make the outside look more cohesive.

    Thoughts/opinions/abuse welcome!

    Cheers,

    A

Looks Great, I love the JDMs! You need to ship that overhear and go to Moab next year.
Cars designed by spreadsheets make sense. Cars designed by engineers make history.

    Way Cool

I've always wondered what a vx would look like with some "basic" steel wheels. Very cool. The fact that its a jdm makes it even better. They look like 16's, at least i assume? A white vx with the white spoke wheels would look neat too. Anyone got a photo of that?

Hah! I wouldn't want to make you all jealous of my power-folding wing mirrors and cloth seats!

It would be great to bring it to Moab and if I win the lottery then I'll be there!

Yeah, the steels work well - I think its because they're chromed and add to the general "moon buggy" look. I bought them off a guy who had them on his Pajero/Montero/Shogun and they've seen some serious action. I did have to "modify" the wheel well lining slightly to eliminate any rubbing at half-lock. Well worth it though! I'm not sure how white would work (maybe a little agricultural), but black ones are pretty neat too.

Cheers for the compliments guys - I'm off to look at more Moab piccys

    I agree

those rims are quite nice. And I love the clean shaven look of the whole VX. The grill is great. I did the same thing. One question though... Are the windows behind the doors tinted? Looks like they're the only ones tinted but I've been wrong before

No no, you're right. For some reason those ones are tinted but the rest of the rear isn't. The DPO (and I think its had a run of dumbass previous owners) fitted a dual-screen DVD system (but not a good one - an e-bay special that "sort of" works) and the only reason I can think of for the tinting was to keep the glare off the 15" drop-down screen.

That was the same dpo that installed (or had installed) a £30 e-bay alarm with remote start and to get it to "work" sliced the entire wiring loom to the steering wheel and - somehow - seemed to get the engine to run +ve earth. But lets not go there...

    Cheers folks!

Its a nice night here so a mate and I decided we'd have a look at the axle articulation so popped along to our local [s]industrial estate[/s] tame boulder collection to have a play...

It would seem that axle articulation won't be a problem during my forthcoming trip to Wales 8-)
