I have a Sith sense....I see Darth people...
I'm still in, but is the $57 to hold the spot or per day or for the whole time, or what? If it's $57 a night. I find that to be a tad pricey for a lump of dirt in the woods. If it's just Bart, Linda, and Brad, and then Megan, my little brother Andrew and me, and each site supports six people then I'm down to split one barring any objections. We had plenty of room at great basin at a single site with six people.
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable man persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on me.
Beau, the campsites are $19 each day.
Now, I completely agree with Beau, we can easily probably fit into 2 campsites, and then just split up the money when we get there, that way it won't be too much. I will have 2 three man tents, my VX and my brothers car. I'm sure another party can fit in the same site with us.
Is there a restriction on vehicles?
I really want to go, so. James, how is the smoke down there right now? Reno is under a thick blanket.
Bart
It's just a bit hazy.
So it looks like 4 tents total, I think two campsites will do for the attending crew. $4 extra vehicle charge. Definately looking forward to seeing you all here and enjoying the 4th VX style!
Best,
yeah we are definately out
Ok, well, that sucks, but there will still be three of us, which is pretty sweet.
Beau, are you still planning on coming down Friday morning? We will probably still go down on Thursday night...unless you want us to wait.
Bart
Yeah, friday morning, if you feel like waiting great, if not it's no biggie. I just need an address for the gps. You still bringing your boat? I'm kinda on the fence on mine because it seems like a lot of hassle for something only one person can enjoy.
Can you search by name?
Twin Lakes Campground
or
Tamarack Lodge
or
Lakefront Resturant.
It really is very simple.
395 to the Mammoth Lakes turnoff (AKA Hwy 203)
At the first stoplight, 203 becomes Main Street once you are in Mammoth Lakes.
Go through town (1mile +-)
At the third stoplight, Main Street becomes Lake Mary Road.
Follow Lake Mary Road (3 miles+-) to Twin Lakes Campground exit on right.
You are there!
I provided the names of a lodge and resturant in the campground area just in case you can search by name.
One road (with 4 different names) off the 395 exit.
Best,
Thanks for the directions! We are THERE!
Ascinder, I am going to leave my canoe behind most likely. 3.5 hours is a long drive with it up top. I think this visit will be my exploratory trip and if there are some really sweet spots that I absolutely must canoe, I will bring it next time. I would mostly like to just hang out and hike around, and wheel a tad.
As far as driving down there, I think we will leave Thursday after work. Since I am paying for an extra night or two, I would like to make the most of it! Cool?
James, how have the mosquitos been down there? I went camping last weekend near Fordyce Lake and the skeeters were HANGRY! I wanna make sure I am prepared.
Bart
Oh, and by the way, I will have my Weber Baby-Q again so no need to bring a grill.
Bart
Hey!
Just scoped out the site again. The skeeters were not an issue @ the camp, but were hanging about @ water's edge. It looks like I will not have to "preres" two sites on Tuesday. All four of those sites are occupied, with one camper leaving Wed AM, and another Thursday AM. I am going to go snag those when they leave, so it will save everyone a few bucks.
Best,
Sweet, we will be down there Thursday night.
Bart
