    Update!
Tomorrow morning my VX goes under the knife...well not exactly. More like the welder! My sliders will be going on in the morning. Should have pics up by the afternoon. Standby!

I had them hosted on AOL...but they are no longer going to host pics. I didn't think it was until the end of the year though?
But fret not...there shall be some updated pics momentarily!

    Wait no more!
A quick recap of phase 1 (since I know my pics from then aren't working)...
    Trimmed a bit of cladding...

    The finished product...

Next it was a trip up the road to Oracle, Az. home of Stric9 Engineering...
    Prepping the frame...

The sliders sitting on the bench...

    Beefie frame mounts...

    Welding...

Welded and ready to bash on...

    Gussets reinforcing the back...

    Priming for paint...

    Painted a nice flat black...

    Phase 2 complete!

We threw around a couple ideas for phase 3 (front and rear bumpers) and we think we came up with something that will be very sweet indeed! Bumpers will be tube rock bumpers with corner protection and a small stinger in front and will follow the lines of the VX nicely!
Remember all will have jigs made so if anyone else is interested they will be available!

I tried my sliders out a couple times this weekend, and they came through perfectly.

Awesome job, I need to get some rock sliders before Moab next year. God Goony bird was very kind to me this year. I had some on my 86 Bronco when some guy T boned me with his midsize Pontiac. It completely destroyed the front of the car and the only damage to the bronco was some trim that popped off and some paint scuffs on the slider bar. The officer that came to the seen thought it was a hit and run. I had to point out the scuffs on the bar.
Cars designed by spreadsheets make sense. Cars designed by engineers make history.

I had posted a thread a while ago about puting a stinger on a vx but I like the direction this is heading.

    Thumbs up

    Billy,
What do your plans look like? Do you have a drawing you can put up just for a little taste before the feast? I'm getting kinda hungry.
    Peace.
