Cooling Problem - Interior & Engine

    Hi,
My 01 has problems with cooling:

-A/C only gets cool/cold when moving. Come to stop and it goes to warm/hot.
-Engine gets hot (3/4 up on gauge+) when stopped... cools down when driving.

    My thought: Fan Clutch.
    Any other opinions?
If it is a fan clutch, how can I test it? Should I hold the fan while someone starts the engine?
    LOL JK!!!
    Seriously though...
    Thanks for any input!

Hi when it gets hot stop the car and try to turn the fan by hand - you should find its very very hard to turn - again when its cool like first thing in the morning it should spin freely
    cheers

    I just tested it...

Hot: my fan turns easily... I can make it spin if I turn it fast enough.

So, from what you are saying... I'm assuming this is the bad scenario.

    Thank you for your help!!

    Question...

Can I "lock" the fan clutch in the engaged position?
What would be the negative of this?

Why NOT have it engaged full-time?
    thanks,

It would constantly sound like a prop plane about to take off...

Well if you can't get a new one why not go electric? it may actually be cheaper in the long run

I think I'll attempt to lock the original one into engaged mode. If it's ridiculously loud, I'll try to find a used fan clutch. If all else fails (I don't want to buy a new one)... I'll try Electric.

Thank you to all who posted! You guys are a great help!
