Salt Lake City assistance

didn't know how to catagorize this so I jus put it under talk....

I found a thule xpedition 696 on craigslist in SLC... $150 but after a couple emails, the owner decided disassembling and shipping are to much work. im looking for assistance here from a local Salt Lake-r.

I dont think that is A thule rack.

Its a universal roof rack with a "thule" sticker on it.
you can find those on Ebay, search under "Universal Roof Rack".

And THEN once you have it, you have to find a way to mount it.

I have one of these on my VX- but the thule rack on underneath makes it too tall. So I made custom mounts. that way, its a lower-profile.

that is not even a VX it is on. If the VX Thule Rack fits other vehicles why is it discontinued and so rare?

ceerk, thanks for the reality... the 696 has thule on all 4 corners and the one for sale only has the big label
