    Home Theater Geeks

    Greetings!
I know I am not the only one here! I would like to see how you spend your dough when it's not going to modding the VX.
    I'll start:

ISF Calibrated Samsung HL-S6187W DLP 61 inch TV
    Denon 3808CI AV Receiver
    Samsung BD-UP5000 HD DVD/BluRay Player
    Direct TV HR21 HD DVR
    Yamaha 5.1 Speakers
    Mirage Audio 15 Inch Sub
    Monster Power
    Monster M1000 HDMI Cables

Close up of HD image in fully sun drenched room:

    Entertainment center:

    Detail of Sub placement:

Detail of HD DVD / BluRay player and movies:

Detail of Denon showing HD codec decode:

Detail of Direct TV HD DVR and friend:

And an overall shot taken from kitchen:

That's about it. I have as much wrapped up in my system as I do in the VX. For the dough spent, I feel my HT is killer. I am sure there are others out there fortunate enough to have a dedicated HT room, and that is the plan someday. For now, I do get alot of enjoyment out of the HT. I love to have folks come over and see the silly grins and chuckles as the lasers fly and the floor starts shaking!
    Best,

Looks like your watching resident evil. I'm at 102" projection, optoma hd-70 projector, Harmon Kardon receiver, Infinity Beta all around, direct tv hr20-700, wii and xbox360. Only mistake: toshiba hd dvd player is now obsolete. hi-res pics of VX's look even better at this size!

Is that Milla Jovovichs eye? Nice system!
As soon as I clean I’ll show you mine.

Panasonic PT-AE2000U 1080P projector, run by Sony PS3

This pic is a year or so old, the rack is full now.

To give you a scale of size, those tubular lights on either side of the screen are 84" tall.

    On the other hand...

Here is my ENTIRE DVD collection--

I just upgraded to the Onkyo HT-SP908 system with TX-SR605 7.1-channel A/V receiver and DV-SP405 DVD Player. I have a Sony 46" Bravia XBR2 LCD TV on the wall. I just watch HD programming on Dish Network. Not into movies. The DVD's were Christmas gifts. I've never bought one!

Yep, I am an audio/video drone as well.

Currently, and without complete specs, my family room is packing:

    Yamaha 5.1/7.1 Matrix/DTS reciever
Yamaha speaker system (front M, front L/R, rear L/R, rear M)
    Sony 12" powered sub

48" Mitsubishi rear projection 1080i HDTV (having a hard time upgrading since I have had it for 6 years and it still works perfect)

DTV DVR reciever w/ Slimline 5LMB

Sony 400 CD changer (fluff.... I dont even use it but it makes a great storage device)

    Now the REAL fun stuff....

XBox360 (completely modified - black case w/ clear plexi cover, upgraded LED fans, modded air venting)
    XBox360 HDDVD
    Xbox
    Sony PS2
    Nintendo Gamecube
    Nintendo 64
    Nintendo (NES)
    Sega Genesis

Using Windows Media Center, I have some of the goodies linked up through my Frankenstein computer, which doubles as another enteretainment system considering it pumps its own 5.1 surround sound system with a 30" LCD monitor.

More DVD and HDDVD movies than I care to think about. And dont get me into games.... totally different story there. One big GenXer who aint ever growing up.

Over achievers and over consumers gentlemen.... we shall be known as great audio/video legends.... in our own heads that is. :bgwp:

Only pics I have are of when I first moved in to my houseand started hooking crap up. My family room is 200% different now.

I second the media server I have 3TB of Media servage

I have two 50" Plasma TVs, my mine set is a Panasonic Unit, Monitor Only, no built in tuner speakers etc. I hate all that unnecessary garbage. Just have a Pioneer Tuner, Comcast HD, Mirage Front and Rear, JBL Northridge Center and Sub (12"). XBOX 360 and HD-DVD player. I have a few hundred DVDs, and even more Digital files, most are DVD Rips, a few HD rips and all the HBO Series'

Next time the room is clean I'll snap a pic

2 Tb of flac files on Sonos server. I have a system in the bedroom, dining room, listening room, and of course computer room.

I have yet to rip my DVD's to the server.

The server makes music accessable, and thats what its all about for me. I prefer the sound from my transport -->DAC, but its not quite as convenient.

Well its not my stuff, but I was the architect of our family's theater. I'll try to get a photo or two up tomorrow

    Our setup is:
-sony pearl 1080p24 projector shining on an 82inch screen
    -yamaha reciever
    -All Klipsch Reference series speakers
*RF-82s for front left + right
    *RC-35 center
*RS-25s for the rear (mother had to have white speakers in the rear for appearance , the smaller speakers don't quite match up with the front)
*and it was either an RW-12 or RW-10 sub

Sources are a PS3, Wii, and verizon FIOS HDTV. With a blu-ray movie there is nothing like Lossless PCM audio and 1080p24 video! Metal Gear Solid 4 and Gran Turismo 5:P also make for quite the experience
