I'd rather not have adds on the forum, unless they are VX-related (Tone, etc.).

If we are providing "enough" revenue monthly by donations, then my vote is for no adds, period, though.

I think I read from Tom4Bren's post that your "Site Supporter" status stays for a year after you donate your $20. If all the 'active' members of the forum maintain this status, is that enough revenue to keep the forum healthy?

Is the $20 a year from each of the active members enough, and is that what's expected; or more per year? I know I easily get $20/month worth of advice from the forum, so I'm not complaining, I just want to know what is expected and I'll gladly do my part to keep the forum healthy.

I'll gladly pay to have access to a single adertisement-free website.

Push your junk somewhere else, Mike. ;-)

Yea capitalism! It’s very rare but you can have ads with out it being annoying. The best example of this is Google. The key is to have appropriate ads in the right locations. If it helps out Moncha then do it.
Cars designed by spreadsheets make sense. Cars designed by engineers make history.

I think JoFotoz is on the right track here...

    My take on this......

I figure this forum has SAVED me AT LEAST $500 in the last couple of years...

....so I donated 10% of that to the site ""upkeep"".

Its $50 ...no big deal on its own....BUT ...!

If all of ya 'all send in 10% of what ya save as a result of the info here...

...then we all continue to "profit" from this site.....

    ......and Scott can breathe easy.

    Just my thoughts.....

Who could argue with logic like that? $20.00 a year is a bargain for the amount of $ you can save by following 1 or 2 "how to's".

CV boot replacement & window fixes come readily to mind...

And if you're here to sell services & or product to other members, there is no excuse for not being a contributing member, IMO, that should be mandatory.

OK, getting down off my soapbox now...

    Thumbs down

As an avid user of The Internet and a person who has been online since Pine, I am avidly opposed to banners, ads, invisible layers, and popups of any kind, especially since a good percentage of ad-servs link to sites that are loaded with more ads, spyware and all sorts of other nasty stuff. Ads are annoying and distracting and I would hate to see VX.info get all cluttered up with unsolicited crap. But that is just me. If Moncha wanted ads, I am sure he could have done this a long time ago.

Long time users of the Web have seen it go from the Information Super Highway to a congested, spaghetti bowl of garbage, porn and misinformation. The internet used to be 80% free information and 10% crap, and now its the other way around. VehiCROSS.info is a quality, spam free site, all around, and I hope it stays that way.

When I want a home loan, new car insurance, or some allergy medicine, I'll let you know.

But what about all the free ipods we could get offered???? They need a place too...

I'm am also opposed to ads... I paid my dues a day or two after becoming a member because it saved me $150 for a window, (SBC Brackets).

And since has given me a ton of insight, and suggestions for upgrades. Haven't had anything else to add 10% too... so I'd say, 10% or $20 whichever is higher

Also selling advertising wouldn't really work well unless we were clicking the ads. And I doubt too many of us would, unless they were related sponsors (indy4X etc.) in which case I still wouldn't click cause I know their direct address

Can't help but notice that donations are a bit "off" this month...

Any kind hearted folks out there feelin' the love?...

Has this site recently $aved you $ome jing?...or helped you find the parts or answers you wouldn't find anywhere else?

Just my opinion, but Moncha shouldn't have to cover the cost of maintaining this site out of his own pocket...

    And again...
Keith, probably get more responses if you started a different tread instead of jacking one that has absolutely nothing in reference to your question.
Or better yet use the SEARCH function...the answers you seek have been beaten to death many, many, many times!
    Good luck with your purchase.

I have been told the drivers window is having some trouble -- no biggy as the fixes are easy and cheap. And there is a broken plastic rear cladding (Isuzu dealer has one here for @ $400.00.)

When I am looking at it, what are the big things to look out for??

    Thanks, Keith
