since I've become a night shifter the last month...I've been listening to that national radio show "Coast 2 Coast" and they've been talking about this quite a bit. They also mentioned that when the first A-Bomb was exploded no one knew absolutely for sure that it wouldn't ignite the Earth's atmosphere.
Supposedly Stephen Hawking (today's Einstein) believes that little will be gained by the attempt.
The History Channel aired a 1-hour special on this the other night but I fell asleep half-way through it. I did hear the professor say..not to fear..if we create a black hole it'll only be this big....lol.
