If you're going to go with an M/T Then my vote goes for the Firestone Destination M/T

it's got the best rating for on-road performance, most people claiming it even outperforms the BFG A/T on and off-road

for an A/T I like the Nitto Terra Grappler.

Totally agree on the Terra Grappler for A/T, as far as M/T I like my Nitto Mudd Grapplers a lot (they are wearing great on road and great off road so far), Mickey Thompson Baja Claw Radial, or BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2, I have heard good things about the Destinations, but I just absolutely do not like the looks of the tread or side wall, enough for me not to consider them, lol.

I would like to thank every one on all the information given to me on my tire size and selection. After doing some research on the Nitto Terre Grappler and a few other tires I feel the Nitto is the way to go also. I think I found a good deal on ebay from Discount Tire Direct, I got my 265/75/16 for 508.00 total to the door. So add in an other 60.00 for mounting and balancing I'm rolling on new rubber. 99VC

not a bad idea to also get an alignment to go with the new tires... especially with such a dramatic size difference.

this changes from a recommendation to a requirement if you change the ride height at all
