Anyone out there looking at this thread that have Ron's side skid plates installed. How are they attached to your VX?

Greetings, Earthling. We come in peace... Never mind "Paris to Dakar", the VehiCROSS looks ready for the Martian desert.
Mine are welded on.
Peace.

Ron never sold the side skids, they were still in prototype stage...

Ouch, I'd be afraid to use screws into the side cladding. Try the automotive double sided 3M tape. Clean both surfaces really really good and use a wax pencil to get ur initial fitting then peal and press... the bottom side of the skirt, maybe fab some hooks that hook around the backside of the cladding.
CHECK THIS OUT FOR EXAMPLES: but it looks as though he screwed in the side skirt...

make sure it is the stuff for attaching moulding and not just the foam double sided tape.

Oh yea, whatever I go, it will be the proper way. I know that most trim pieces are done this way now, and if done correctly with good quality products will last a long time and can be easily repaired if anything happens. Am also leaning towards that for the front skid plate at the top for those that don't have to run a front license plate. I know I would hate to see two bolts/screws in the middle of mine. These are all things that I need to work out before I will sell the first one. After all, will be selling to my extended family
My bad.....I thought you were talking about rock sliders.
Peace.
