Personally, I found our hub size of 4.25" (aka "pilot diameter" in the above figure) as the biggest obstacle to finding proper wheels... Most big Chevy trucks use 3" hub and DO NOT fit on VX .
96 Eclipse Spyder GSX (already turbo, AWD swap)
93 Eagle Summit AWD (4G63 turbo swaps)

Thank you Leon R. The wheels I was planning on ordering online say "hub bore 106.10", which is 4.19". I called and they told me that it won't fit the 4.25" (108mm) hub.
Will a larger wheel hub be a problem (110mm to 125mm)?

The ~3" is the popular Chevy size that doesn't work on VX.

4.25" (108mm) definitely works and 4.17" (106mm) might still work. I wouldn't rule it out just yet.

Edit: judging by this thread: http://www.vehicross.info/forums/sho...3188&highlight

Both 108mm and 106mm should work

Thanks for the info in your PM. It seems that Leon R directed me to the correct answer (Thanks!!!). Our hub should be 100-101mm according to the link, so anything above that will fit.

    Here's where I'm looking

Let me know if there is another good online place!

Looks like you're good to go, brother! I want a buck every time someone compliments the wheels though.

Enjoy 'em. I love the way they look!

Just got back from Afghanistan and itching to spend some on upgrades. First are badly needed new tires-so I might as well go bigger in size.

Anyone have a side-view photo of eternal21's setup with the 18" Gear Blackjack Rim/Nitto Terra Grapplers? a few pages back? I am doing the same setup. (not intentional, I ended up getting a good deal on Discount Tire for the 285/60R-18 XL 120S B tires and was looking for black rims.

Just want to see what I am in for in terms of how far they stick out from the fenders. Hard to tell in the 3/4 views. I see lots of people here at Fort Benning who run with tires outside the wheel wells, just planning ahead for when I move yet again.

Installed my new wheels today. Gear Nitro's 18x9s, +18 offset on NTG 285x60x18.
My VX had some trimming already done when I bought it.

guess Ill add to the list

I took off my Cepek DC9s last week and replaced them
    with these..
I did alot of work to these rims BEFORE I actually installed
them. They dont come looking like this from the factory.

17x9 +12 offset which sits the rim out some for what I consider
a better stance them higher offsets...
    265-65-17 Continental tires

no offense but after spending all that money and time on your wheels an $8 bottle of turtle wax trim restorer would go a long way for your cladding - unless you like the faded look - either way the wheels and vx look great you dont see trios much anymore

    Ive been busy..
not to mention the az sun fades the cladding out here like
every 3 months no matter what you apply to them..
after a while, you just live with it.
    poor truck needs paint too

First attempt but I thought they had a little too much offset for my liking:

    Rims are: Unique Wheel Series 252 15x10 -44mm Backspacing 3 3/4"
    Tires are: Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 33x12.5 r15
Lifted: 3" Calmini springs and torsion crank
Trimming: Front wheel-well both for and aft and BFH. Note: still had rubbing on aft cladding and well with wheel cranked
    There's no 'I' in denial.

Second attempt with narrower rim made for the offset I desired:

Rims are: American RacingAR 767 15x8 -12mm Offset 4" Backspacing
    Tires are: Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 33x12.5 r15
Lifted: 3" Calmini springs and torsion crank
Trimming: Front wheel-well both for and aft and BFH. Note: No longer rubbing with wheel cranked.

One thing I didn't really comprehend is how offset and backspacing relate to rim width. I was concerned with how far the wheels protruded from the cladding. I wanted enough so that when off-roading the tire walls would contact rocks before cladding damage occurred. But I didn't want too much sticking out, this is subjective, what is too much for me is desirable to others. But think of it this way: an 8 inch rim width with a 0 offset will have about 4" of backspace. But a 10 inch rim with 4" of backspace will stick out 2" more than the 8" rim since 5" inches is the rims center point. For some reason I was thinking a 10" rim with the same backspacing as an 8" would stick out only 1 more inch.

Like you said, it's all a matter of preference. IMHO, the deeper dish of the wheels with more offset looked mo betta.
