We share a lot of parts with the Trooper RS (short wheelbase 2 door trooper).

Is the rear axle indentical w/limited slip? That could broaden my choices to locate an axle or diff. for my ring & pinion whine.......

Shoot "BigSwede" a PM. He is an RS owner and can probably answer that question. FYI there are even fewer RS out there than VX's.

Check out http://www.myisuzuparts.com to see what parts are the same.

In the Vehicross introduction video, Mike says, "Now, although the front and rear suspension are based on the Trooper, parts are not interchangeable because of different spring rates".

If I remember correctly, no one uses our exact match. We have a 4.30 ratio. RS troopers use a 4.77 in the 1st gen, 4.56 like all second gen troopers post 92. I think the 1st gen amigo also uses 4.56. You might have some luck with an old pickup though. I think there were a couple that used a 4.30 ratio. Stock 4.30 diffs will be hard to come by. If it is just a diff whine and you need to change out the thrid member, might be cheaper/easier to change out both diffs at the same time to a 4.56 ratio. Those are easy to come by.

I read a long time ago that the front anti-sway bar was bigger than the Trooper's as well... even bigger than the sway bar that comes with the Calmini lift kit.

As I was driving today, I saw an Axiom. That may be your solution, no that they are common. They too had a 4.30 ratio I think and a rear 12 bolt, so that may be a doner axle.

I think Axiom and Rodeo 98- have Dana axles, not Isuzu Corporate axles. At least they not crossing with Vehicross.
2001 Isuzu VehiCROSS (build in progress): 4JX1/A340/part time, 2" body lift, front Aisin hubs, rear Aussie Locker, 4.56 gears, OEM rear sway bar disconnect, AirFlow snorkel, cabin air filter
1980 Jeep Cherokee (assembling): 1.5" body lift, TBI, HEI
    1987 AMC Eagle: stock

I'd say some parts, especially front suspension have the same numbers with Rodeo. So, you never know if it's directly replaceable from Trooper or from Rodeo, or both, or unique.

I'm also using this site to find crossing:
    http://www.isuzuparts.com/part_number.html

They have newer part numbers for obsoleted parts, while myisuzuparts lists original numbers at manufacture time.
