    Angry Streak of BAD luck

This last week has been devestating for my family. First of all my SC install has had a lot of problems and my VX has been in the shop for a week. I was getting rides with my brother and he had a problem with his starter cable and we decided to take my moms Explorer out for a night. Well my brother was picking someone up by himself and was driving next to some nice red truck that he was checking out when the truck just cut him off and forced him to jump the center meridian and popped both driver side tires. Then just last night at 4:00AM a drunk driver came through our neighborhood and completely totalled my brothers truck. He was parked behind our neighbors boat, and the drunk driver ran into the back and rammed his truck (with his late 60's early 70's Chevy) into the boat crushing both front and back of my bro's truck. Now the only vehicle we have is my dads new Z71, and we all have to ride in it to go to work. I hope this is the end of this bad luck streak but I guess only time will tell.

JEEZZ! Man, I'm sorry for you and your family... your losses and lost time. I'm assuming the drunk driver was arrested, correct? I hope he had insurance, for your sake (and your neighbors). Damn drunks... we had a drunk driver here in Portland run over and hit a biker a couple weeks ago, and last week (or earlier this week) a biker was riding early in the morning and a white delivery truck rammed into him, then drove off. Jacka$$es...

Plus, we had an incident outside of Portland where an 80 year old (and a car full of geriatrics) plowed into some people walking on a path, right off the street.

Gotta watch out for the drunks and olds!!!!

    Unhappy

Hang in there... tell us if there is anything we can do.

At least no one was injured. Cant say the same that occured here yesterday in Santa Monica.

    :sighr:

Well on the bright side, If my VX wasn't in the shop then the drunk driver would have hit it. My brother was parked in my normal parking place. And surely enough I don't think the neighbors boat was damaged, maybe the outboard motor but the boat just had my bro's paint all over it.

    Thanks for the replys!
Yes the drunk driver was arrested, his truck couldn't go anywhere after this accident! It was stuck on my brothers truck pretty good. To let you know the severety of the accident my brothers truck bed was roof level.

    Talking

In a strange way it sounds like your sc problems actually saved your VX.

Man, sorry to hear that... that's definitely a wild run of events! I'm glad everyone is okay because as crazy as it has been, it could have been much worse.

Drunk drivers are the scum of the earth. My wife's mother was killed by one 8 years ago (wow, has it really been that long) who crossed the centerline in a jacked-up 4X4 pickup and hit her head-on doing about 70 in a 45 mph zone. Rolled her car down into a field. It was actually my wife's car, a Ford Escort, and she always says she wishes her parents had been in their big station wagon that night. BTW, her dad was in the car too but while he was severely injured, he was not killed.

Oh, and all of this was while this drunk guy was running from the cops who had noticed he was driving erratically and gave chase, and the guy was in big trouble for insurance fraud too and was probably about to go to jail for that.
