Headlight covers + license plate removal = ?

Last night I was cleaning the VX for a trip home to Waco to see my family and I decided to do a few of the VX mods I have sitting in the garage to do. I replaced the door seal on my passenger side, removed the front license plate and installed the plastic Isuzu piece, and then I installed the headlight covers that took forever to be delivered. I still need to do the rear brake light flasher, amp+sub, and the diff drop, maybe next weekend, haha.

Ok so I am not sure about the headlight covers.

    Headlight cover Positives:
    -look mean
-make the VX look even more like a snake
-blend well with the blacked out look of the VX
-protect the headlights from the abuse of the sun during the day
-protect the headlights from rocks and the like
-remove and install in about 5 seconds flat with no tools at all

    Headlight cover Negatives:
-they are totally not street legal
-would never do night driving with them on (not safe, too dim)
-obstructs the reflective surface of our headlights (which ties into other chrome surfaces, like the tow hooks, fangs, wheels, muffler tip)
-makes the VX look almost too much like a snake, lol

So here are the photos, decide for yourself, for now I am only doing a little daytime driving with them on trying to decide what I think, I will definitely leave them on if I ever have to leave the VX parked outside for any length of time. Here are some various photos to show the different looks:

At first, I didn't like the headlight covers much. Now, after looking at them in the pictures they kinda grew on me. I'm not sure I would keep them on all the time, but a little different look every now and then is always good for a healthy marriage.
    Peace.

My same comment. Do you drive at night with dark sunglasses on? Then why put them on your headlights

Sorry guys but i got to disagreed with you on this one.

I bought the covers & use them 24/7 other wise it make no sense at all to pay & wait to have them on the VX.

However every opinion is respected & welcome
    Dakar was just the begining.

    Thumbs up Sweeeeet!!!!!

I LOVE IT! I've got the same look on mine (headlights/no plate)... Now I can see what it's going to look like with a lift and meats! Nice!!!

BTW... the part about the covers "protecting" the headlights is not 100%true... They actually damage/scuff them up after a while. You can put the "loop" side of a velcro strip in strategic places on the underside to help avoid this.

    Looks AWESOME!

Careful on the plate Ryan. You have the same setup I did until Pct 5 popped me about a month ago. Let me go (professional courtesy perhaps) but that ticket can get expensive. I switched to putting the plate back on.

I've lived in Dallas for 20 years with NO plates on front.(I hate the look)No cop has ever said a thing.
I did get pulled over,in the middle of nowhere,by a sheriff on the way back from Moab. He must have been bored.

I have never run the front plate either......I act stupid when pulled over, only once did DPS pull onto shoulder, let me pass, only to get behind me and pull me over for that alone! Warning is all I got......they did make me get out of the vehicle and stand in the ditch due to the weapon.......LOL
