    The New Ride!

As most of you know my old ride was "slightly" damaged in the great garage incident. So, in all its glory, here is the new replacement (slightly dressed up in race gear)...

    Notice the "bayonet" fork...

Can you find the rear brake

Neatly routed cables out of the wind...more aero=more speed!

After a few weeks of putting some miles on my new Felt B2R I can say one thing for sure...It is definately faster than my old ride!
It will get a few more upgrades for racing as the year goes by. The disc wheel is on loan to me for the season from my coach (thank you Accelerate3) and will be replaced with a Zipp808 front wheel and a Zipp1080 rear wheel.:bwgr:

WOW doesn't even come close to what I am feeling for your new ride
Greetings, Earthling. We come in peace... Never mind "Paris to Dakar", the VehiCROSS looks ready for the Martian desert.

Nice ride... Now put this one on the bike rack AFTER your truck is out of the garage.

    Thumbs up

    Billy,
You got a very sweet ride. Interesting Fork setup. How do you like the Sram Red drivetrain, I've heard good things.

Since we're meeting up in San Diego on the 28th.

    Thanks everyone.
Rickshaw...nice Cervelo. Being so near San Diego have you done the climb up Polimar? Did you catch any of the TOC when it came down there?
The SRAM Red is very nice. As good as DA and Record. Shifts fast and smooth and is amongst the lightest out there.

Dude you have GOT to get a more aerodynamic water bottle! That thing is costing you at least 14 milliseconds/km!!! :bgwg::bgwg::bgwg:

Just kidding of course. That is one sleek bicycle. I bet it's light too. Looks like it's made of carbon fiber.

Yep, all CF. And the bottle won't be there for races! I have a nice aero bar mounted bottle for that...

    ROTFLMAO

Haha! I shoulda known! You gotsta have a sleek bottle for a bike like that!

I guess if you train with a round bottle then race with the sleek one it's like those athletes that train at high altitude then do a race near sea level and feel like they're turbocharged by the increased air density.

Hey if you want to feel REALLY fast on race day, duct tape some bricks to that carbon fiber frame when you're training. Or just borrow my bike. I'm still riding the same bike I rode in 1979 - a 25.5 pound Motobecane Grand Touring complete with wide flange hubs and center pull brakes. I get a workout just taking it off the rack...

A friend of mine used to fill waster bottles with gravel and water for his hill climb training! And those center pull brakes are actually more aero than todays side pull brakes...the cable lines up with the head tube instead of sticking out in the wind!
