Sounds like a rub or a drag????

I drove 3 1999 VX's before I bought my 01. Everyone of them had the same noise, sounds like it's coming from the front left, kind of like a brake dragging or??
The noise dissapears after 50 or so feet. Is this common or has anybody else experienced it?

I've had two front calipers seize up on me a couple of years apart. Neither made that much noise, but it's consistent with what you describe. In my cases, I had warped rotors and I would feel the drag as the warped part of the rotor hit the pads. After 50 ft or so, the warp in the rotor pushed the pads out of the way. Also, my gas mileage gradually dropped by a 1 - 2 mpg and recovered immediately after replacing the caliper (and rotor & pads, of course).

Yeah, I think the stock rotors are known to have an issue with warpage. The first VX I ever drove was a 99 and the brakes were SHOT.
