more pink vx...damn you chip foose
So I took a razor blade to the VX tonight on a whild hair and peeled off all the badges on both sides and the back door. I think on an Ebony it looks 1000x's better. I'm still debatind painting the stock wheels black, or getting an aftermarket wheel that is black. Wife says painting my wheels black would look dumb, but she doesn't want me to spend money on new black wheels... and then says that black wheels would look good on the truck! I don't understand her.
I also moved the cross overs from the door speakers to inside the door frames so the handle would sit in it's spot correctly. Don't know why I waited so long to do that... laziness probably! Tomorro when it's daylight again I'm gonna use a little rubbing compound on the areas where the badges were to remove/blend the outlines.
I'm a fan of badgeless as well. I have some black wheels I could sell ya

Junster If it don't looked fixed.. It ain't fixed.
got my V-LED Spider Lights installed. They are super super super bright and fill out the assembly wonderfully. They have 54 rear facing LEDs and 40 side facing.
the spider effect is sort of played down because of all the side facing leds, but it stands out a little better when you hit the brakes. all in all im happy though
Realized my license plate lights were out, but like so many others the screws holding them in were... screwed. but the assembly it self is in great shape. I mounted LED strips in there and adapted the LEDs to plug into the factory light sockets. turned out nice too... $15 mod
I saw that in your thread about getting your truck back from the body shop and that's what got me thinking about doing mine black. I actually showed the pic to my wife and said those were black painted from the factory, she believed me and said when the factory did them they look nice, but when someone paints them at home they look trash...
I guess I win this round!

Don't worry man,you aren't alone
Dakar was just the begining.
That's funny john. So I take it your gonna paint yours now
Powder coat them ... Looks pro then!!!
Probably not. I'm not too good at paint. Still weighing some options, including yours!
Key to getting a deal on powder coating is to do any prep they need for them. Then ask when they will be doing a run in the color you want. They already have the equipment running black so there is no setup time or switching for them to do.
