"200 miles a week." Man, I'd kill for a commute like that. I put on 100 miles a day commuting plus any other runnin around on top of that.

I keep the Proton for 'pleasure use' only & currently have 95K on an 03 Eclipse for commuting. I don't count in your poll on high mileage VXs though - 45K currently.

My VX is my daily beater... my "pleasure use only" car is a 1995 Nissan 240sx that I'm currently in the process of swapping a corvette v8 into

as for mileage I just rolled past 120K, but my commute is pretty small normally about 120miles on a quiet week 160 on a busy week. and once my 240SX is done that will be only in the winter/spring since I'll be driving the 240 the rest of the year.

114K. Small transmission leak (shaft selector seal replaced and fixed leak), widows need help going up, the CD player died quite awhile back and replaced the CV boots not too long ago. Not much to complain about since I paid just under $12K when it had 20K miles over six years ago.

Mobil 1 with WIX filter every 4K, transmission, transfer case and differential fluid every year. 80 mile per day commute.

Just turned 120k - done all scheduled maintenance (as "high-use" so shortened intervals), 5K Mobile1 oil changes and original owner. Hope to get another 100k easy. Biggest replacements: ABS pump, two TOD speed sensors, HP Power Steering line. Also on my 4th set of tires (OEM, Pirelli Scorpions, Kumho Ecstas and current set of Kumho Ecstas). Otherwise it's been a great vehicle - probably the best I've ever owned, and even those few items are acceptable INHO.

Ready to roll over to 164 k any day now. It's my daily commuter. My check tranny light comes on every so often and throws the "transmission component slipping" code. No obvious signs of it slipping and my tranny guy says nothing more they can do unless I want to rebuild it but they suggest I drive it til it goes then worry about rebuilding it. Says it could give me another 40,000 between now n then so I have my fingers crossed.

Hey, are you my twin? (must be a Proton thing)

118K, all scheduled maint by dealer except oil by me, Mobil1 since new, original owner, 4 sets of tires -- OEM, Pirelli Scorpions and two sets of Kumho Ecsta STX's. No major repairs. The MAF was replaced to fix a CEL at 90k. Best and most reliable vehicle I have owned!

Separated at birth I guess! It's funny that we're so similar - a Proton thing indeed!

    Proton Thing!

    John and Greg

I am running Kumho Ecstas too. First set for me 255x55R18.

Only 76500 miles though. Mobil 1 every 4k.

Getting ready for new brakes, cross drilled rotors (no slots). Should I use ceramic pads or old school metallic?

Hey James: I would go with the OEM pads, the price is aittle more but will last and last ( replaced my original set at almost 100k, and replaced w/OEM's ) and the best thing...NO BRAKE DUST ! !

Concensus is that OEMs are the best.

    Pads

    Guys,

Former Isuzu dealer here is offering ceramic or metallic pads that seems to supply thru GM Canada.

OEM pads are listing at CDN $290 for the front!

    I will call Merlin!
