After pulling my brakes apart this evening, the pads are shot on the front and rear.
As usual, the VX was never sold in the UK, so i need to know what model Isuzu to order the brakepads for? I would assume that its the trooper 2??
Anyone know ?

Speed Thrills, Boredom Kills!!
We have the same front and rear brake pads as a '91+ Trooper, a 98+ Rodeo, Rodeo Sport, Amigo, Honda Passport, and a '02 Axiom. Just make sure you get ceramic pads, which I believe were stock. They're the ones that last 96-128K km (60-80K miles) and have no visible brake dust.
My history with ceramic pads-
Rears replaced at 64K and 136K miles.
Fronts replaced at 80K and 159K miles.
The Isuzu part numbers for the brake pad kits are-
Front- 8-97035-257-1
Rear- 8-97035-266-0

Thats perfect. Thanks alot
Hi in the UK there plenty of genuine Isuzu pad sets on fleabay at the moment - you can use any of the following - trooper 97> , Frontera 98 > they are about the only UK versions that will fit
the genuine ones come with new anti rattle shims and grease - the vauxhall ones are after market unless you get the expensive ones
Oh yes and Monterey ones fit too
Best thing is to get in touch via pm or email - i'll let you have the full x ref
cheers

Thanks as always steve!! I ended up getting some pads from Milner Offroad for the Trooper USB25 which seam to fit fine. No anti rattle shims but i just put the old ones on the new pads.
I forked out and did to this what I did to my last Yaris and fitted 3G grooved and dimpled discs (machined Brembos) all round and EBC Greenstuff pads for the Frontera.
It stops. Quickly. But it will be even better when I finally get braided lines fitted.
I was £350+ for them but they were money well spent.

Hi Alan,
Any idea where you'll get the braided pipes from? HEL? I replaced brake pipes on a m/c which meant draining the whole brake system. Is that something that is relatively straight forward, as I'd also like to uprate them on my VX?
Kirk
I would guess SWB trooper '97 brake pipes would fit fine - unless you have a massive body lift -lol
cheers
Steve
Here ya go...

Thanks Ldub.
Kirk, I don't know as its something I need to do too - its the missing link in my uprated braking system.
I need to replace my pads all round too - that's been a little under a year but they have been "well used"
EBC Brakes direct actually list the Vehicross - Clicky Linky
Hth,

My brakes are squeeling and VERY anoying. Think the damage to one of the discs is to blame so fitting new rear disks today
3Gs ftw... Everyone loves it grooved and dimpled!
Is that with new pads? Have you removed any lip around the outer edge of the old discs to stop it rubbing off the edges (gently tap the edge with a hammer all the way round - time consuming but...)? Copperslip all around the outside of the new pads to stop them catching? There's something to do with toothpaste too but I've never had to do it so I can't remember the details...
Loads of things to try before the expense of changing the discs.
