Billy, Biju said he wouldn't take it on the trail - but still, he could have driven it TO Moab! Oh well, he still represented Isuzu love with all those collectables he donated!
On the trail, someone mentioned "responsible respectful etiquette" - and that was, no posting of pics of vehicles being strapped. Someone else didn't get the memo! Sweet, I say! So I'll try to cover my arse by saying I was the last VX to get to the obstacle after all the other vehicles chewed up the terrain and dug huge holes in places that already had huge holes. I should have been near the front of the group in this case. Since my rear diff is open there was no way for me to gain traction in the silty slop - trust me, I tried. Finally, as I let off the brake my floating VX would hop on the driver front tire and then back to the passenger rear tire making it seem like I was going to break something even though I wasn't even on the gas pedal. So at the base of the first obstacle, I was getting stuck every time I stopped. Instead of wasting time fighting it, since we were all at this hill way longer than Todd intended to be, I was just strapped up the whole hill... However! I was able to keep slack in the strap most the way up to proceed under my own power, if only that blasted Jeep wasn't in my way... Later that night, I got an "award" for being strapped the most... if you think about it though, I was only strapped once!
Pics coming!!!

Monday - Jack (pbkid), and his sister, Diane, and I headed up one of the Fins 'N Things sections.
Tuesday morning - Highway 191 and the Colorado River, waiting for a few stragglers.
At the beginning of Again And Again Hill on the Dome Plateau trail. Todd Adams is strapping Rowhard up the first techincal feature.
This is higher up Again And Again Hill.
Kodiak and VXIronwoman highfive!
MONCHA'S MINIONS OF MOAB!!!

A little pic about Jack and Diane!
Off to the Dinosaur tracks!
Too damn cute for such a scary dog!
At the Car Wash, at the Car Wash yeah! I think you can see why... I was supposed to leave for Salt Lake after this pic but I decided to stay one more day. I think you can see why...
Wednesday - Kane Creek - Tomdietrying not needing to die.
Jack, you may as well be walking alongside the VX at this point!
Out of place and out of order but so nice.
1st Gen Trooper love!
Coming up to the good stuff!
I didn't get many pics up this run cuz I was doing a lot of spotting - we all made it without using a single strap! Good job everyone! Hopefully some nice pics of this section will pop up soon.
A little spotting from Jack for Diane... teehee.
Sorry Darrin, you know I have to show this! Notice the tire track... where it gets to the rock wall I am standing on, you may notice the plastic light chunks.
...But he is still smiling!!!
Last and least... the trail repair from one year ago is still holding!!!
Awesome pics!
Justin, did you wheel this whole time with your reparied tie-rod from last year?
Bart
Very cool pix! Yeah, the high fiving was for being the first one up without using the strap. The “again and again hil”l obstacle looks easy on film but in reality it was one of the most difficult obstacle on the trip. It was like trying to climb a small cliff surrounded by powered sugar, even the FJ was having trouble. That hill was so bad by the time Justin got to it he would still be there if it wasn’t for the Adams Family Crawler.
Hopefully Brandon will post up some of his 1000's of pics he took on the trail with Cris!:bwgr:
I am working on the pics. Slowly making my way across country still. I am in Dayton, Oh right now, no trailer problems...
My uncle in law is looking into making me an aluminum flatbed car hauler, that would save quite a bit in gas, so next year is a possibility.
I have all of Brandon's pics on my laptop, just gotta have a chance to upload them and get them posted.
I would like to give a shout out to a few of the great people I met out there, as a NUB, it was a very eye opening experience:
Thanks to Billy, an amazing spotter, Tom, for being awesome, Steve and Todd, for being great trail leaders, Rodeo Dave, for being entertaining, Jack for making sure that I was not the youngest VXer there..., Trooper Mike, for not quitting and making the run up to Top of the World with me. I know there were others, and it was great meeting all of you. I will post up pics and stories in a few days when I finally make it to Charleston...
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
