    ...and so it begins!

Well the OME 912 rear coil springs went on today along with cranking up the torsion bars! Now I've got room for the bigger tyres, but what has impressed me more is how much better the ride is! I know VX's are renouned for having a firm ride, but I'm beginning to think the stock springs I took off were shot and bottoming out all the time. This new set up is so much better - I'm falling in love all over again

    Go get some!

I am about to buy my set of OME 912's too, did you get medium duty or heavy duty springs, where did you get them from?

    Question

Did the front-end ride get stiffer since you cranked the torsions to match the rear height??

That didn't take much! I never said at the weekend, but with the taller springs the ride is much better - less cracking my head off the roof at big expansion joints. Shocks made a big difference too.

I'm looking forward to following this...

Don't forget the front end alignment...don't want to trash your tires!

I think a lot of the ride difference has to do with the bump stops being farther from the axle.

I'm still with stock shocks and they seem fine. Crotch is running stock too and hasn't had any problems so I think i'll see how it goes...

I did notice on the front that the bump stops are well used, so I think cranking up the torsion bars is a very good idea! And no, if anything the ride is much softer all round.

Yes I have two vehicles now that need front end alignment!

    Question

I thought it wasn't necessary to change the shocks
