Need new lift and have $1000 to spend

Well like the title states I have a grand in hand that i can spend on a lift and shocks and what not. I'm looking at the independent4x sport kit for $720 then spending the rest on anything else i may need for it. Has anyone bought this kit. I'm looking at getting 16" wheels with 285/75/16's. so the question is. if you had a $1000 to spend what would you get. and am i over paying for the kit at 720? could i piece it together and save a hundred bucks or more? oh and i'm looking for about a 3 inch lift. Thanks guys i know i'll get some good answers. I'm new here and already am pretty impressed.

Do a search and you will find plenty of options/opinions. The indy kit is nice but has a lot of things that you just don't need. Use the KISS method...OME 912 springs, flip your ball joints to ease alignments and crank the torsion bars plus an alignment. VX lifted for under $200 (if you do the work which is easy and documented on this site). Then you have $800 to put towards some sweet tires!

I want to do it right jut don't want to over pay on a kit. I want the 9000xl shocks and the 912 springs and spacers. I guess I'm looking for the best price on all of the components. Thanks guys

When you replace your shocks ... put them away (don't throw them away). You'll want them back eventually.

But seriously don't buy any kits or anything, look up the many awesome threads we already have on here about lifting and just get some springs and go from there, it really is not that complicated Good luck, let us know if you have any problems.

A big X2 on that. I lifted for the cost of the OME912s. Like $140. DONE DUNDY!

Also, think about how many inches you REALLY want. ( ) Basically, I mean think about your CVs vs your lift height and what you really NEED.
