    Cladding Question

My wife got into a fender bender and the rear passenger wheel, tire , and cladding that goes on the gas fill side was dammaged. I had a spare tire and rim but where can I buy the right rear cladding ?? Does anyone have the spare part ?? and what does it cost - I would like to do the repair my self. Thanks,
    Larry

He's punting his parts as "Ironman"....They are NOT!

But he may have the cladding you need.

    Question

I didn't know you could "salvage parts" off a cash for clunkers car. Sounds a little fishy?????

Hmmm, thanx Jo. This might be a good source for Mr. Larrys to check-out. Yeah; it sounds a bit unethical to pre-strip a cash for clunker car before the main carcass officially goes to the meat grinder, but maybe some of its cosmetic donor parts can help others out.

I am dealing directly with salvaging "cash for clunkers" cars.. The dealer fries the motor with sodium-silicate (it locks up and is not repairable), the salvage yard can resale parts off them. That is why we need to contact our local salvage yards about VX parts. There was suppose to be some VX's turned in somewhere under cash for clunkers. I've contacted 3 of our local salvage yards and they've not responded. They're suppose to be able to search for parts nationwide. I'm still lookin for a luggage rack, but there should be cladding and a lot of good stuff somewhere. P.S. we don't take parts off them prior to sending them to salvage.
So I said to myself, I said "Handee"
and this voice came back and said..
"He's not in, may we take a message?"

    Larry,

Depending on how bad the damage is, some here have had some success with gently heating the cladding with a heat gun and then "pushing" the cladding back into shape.

Try checking on car-part.com. I was looking for drivers door cladding and found one place. Just waiting for the yard to e-mail me a picture to see the condition. If any one else has one in descent condition I rather get it through here. I could even do a trade. I have an extra custom colgan nose bra plain style.
