I got into an arguement recently with someone who was supposedly an auto enthusiast and "in the know" who flat out stated that the VX was built on Honda parts. When corrected she argued with me that Isuzu and Honda were "partners" and as such she was correct, even when I pointed out that Honda actually rebadged the Rodeo or used Isuzu drivetrains. She was just convinced that what she heard or knew was correct and made it sound like Isuzu owed its success to Honda. Some people...

"Metaphors be with you"
Haha john !
You should tell her that if isuzu owned its success to honda how come that isuzu has been building cars & trucks since 1918 & honda about few years ago.
I'm sure another argument will arised as which is first the chicken or the egg ?
Just some people.....
Dakar was just the begining.
You would never guess that I was also a Ford guy (well, DUH!) and my '70 Torino has been through hell in the 33+ years that I have owned it. My '82 Mustang went through some reliablity issues during it's mid-life crisis, but since replacement of the engine, transmission, rear diff, most of the suspension and part of the electrical system, it is now fairly reliable.
Unfortunately, since I bought the VX I haven't had the NEED for a new car, so I haven't been looking at the new Fords much. They haven't built anything yet that would pull me out of my VX! I do like the new Ecoboost engine.
I've also been following WRC racing this season, and it looked like the Citroen teams were going to run away and hide before Loeb lost focus (no pun intended) and the lead. Now it's a battle. Those guys are CRAZY!!

People just want it to be a Honda so they can buy one and say it is great because it is a Honda.
I know Honda makes good cars, I have owned several and all were very good except this last one, the CRV and I would never own another. I have had more trouble with it than any other new car I have owned.
As far as Ford, been a Ford man all my life (owned other manuf. but like Ford) and had everything from 1949 to my 2000 F250. It looks like they are working hard to stay in business.
I had just seen the ebay listing for the air meter to go on a "Honda VX" and thought everyone would enjoy a little humor..............

I've had lots of Fords as company cars...all did very well.
Moved my '94 Taurus, with 190K on it, out for a 99 Accord Coupe with a V6. I like the Honda better, but because of the style not any issues.
I bought my beautiful bride a 2008 Taurus with AWD and it's been fantastic. If you want an American brand then at the present time I think Ford is the only way to go.
Live, Love, Forgive and Never Give Up
X2.
I also find ford's doing very well this past 3/4 years.
The taurus looks pretty well build, also the edge looks like who ever owns one seems to be happy with their purchase.
I've asked few of them opinion's about the quality/performace & all has been praises.
The raptor could be a huge + if they can get the retail price bit lower one it hits the dealerships.
Gee I was just trying to make a "FUNNY" about the ebay listing that said the part was for a HONDA VX......
I guess you guys have seen that before but it struck me as kinda funny he did not know the VX had the Izusu name on it.............
Lot of good talk about cars though..
I like the older cars even thought they require more maintenance. If I had the money (like Leno) I would own several old cars. New cars have their place but when it comes to loving a car - the older ones have character. Thats one of the things I like about the VX even though it is a newer car it still has some character.
One more comment - the older cars don't all look alike, I can tell what they are just looking at one. Some cars today unless you see the name you have no idea who made it.
