    3.2 ltr jdm V 3.5 US

hi, i have not been able to find a suitable answer to this.

Could someone inform me of the power difference between the 3.2 to the 3.5 ltr.

I may be able to get my hands on a clean and babied 3.5 6ve1 motor but as my current 3.2 is doing a fine job i am wondering if its worth the hassel of a eng swap.

I am going to assume that the JDM power train is excatly like the US power train.

    random thoughts at work

    Hey hetzer !

The difference between both engines is crankcase displacement.

    The 3.2L kicks out 205 horses of power,the 3.5L output 215.

The drive train could be the same except the TOD,the US TOD is always on 4WD mode while the Jap has the 2wd/4wd switching mode.

Besides that i guess the only thing wrong with you JDM VX version is that you guys drives on the wrong side LOL

BTW : You shouldn't have any issues swapping engines, you may need to reprogram the ECU to the 3.5L specs
    Dakar was just the begining.

If you dyno the VX at a closed sea level altitud you should get no less then 202 HP purring out the beastie

If you haven't do so get some high performance muffler under the beast.

I got two dynomax superturbo mufflers under mine & man,i love how the horse is moving,i can actually feel the added power; Can't wait for the S/C kit from robbomaz......

HI mate, My location is appox 550 meters above average sea lvl. My car has 140k on the clock and as far as i can tell been regulary serviced. I did not consider uping the exhaust, the only thing i have done to the exhaust is to be a reverb on. sounds dead sexy!

I am keen to see what lil pwny is going to put out.

I'm assuming since you have a late model JDM VX it's the updated 3.2L with 205 HP that's similar to our 3.5L with 215 HP. I think the early 1997 JDM VX had the older 3.2L with 190 HP.

These are the changes that were made to the 3.2L-

If you have aluminum timing belt covers you have the old 3.2L. If they're plastic covers then you have the newer 3.2L similar to our engine.

This vid I have explains the similarities and differences between the new 3.2L and 3.5L and how these engines function.
