IIRC, cam seals are supposed to be replaced at the same time as the timing belt/tensioner/water pump...

Hmm, yeah, I did not replace those seals when I did mine, and Merlin made no mention of selling those bits to other people doing the timing belt maintenance. Hopefully mine will be ok!!!!

got into town this morning to pick up my grandson for school, and he walks out and says "poppie, what are those drips?"
i look under the truck, and there is a puddle of oil the size of a basketball
then i smelled it. it had to have just happened, and luckly, i had topped off the oil 2 days before.
had the front of the engine tore down to expose the driver cam,in about 30 minutes. and sure enough, that seal had crept out of its place. again, since i dont have time to do the whole timing belt, i gooped it with the adhesive again, and slid it back into place.
will be back on the road again in the morning.
