    Park into Reverse

So... in the mornings when it's a bit cold, it takes 2-3 seconds for the gears to connect when shifting from P to R. Any other combo is fine, but this one has me a bit worried. Almost 152 k and I have had the transmission flushed and filled about 1.5 years ago'ish.

    Any thoughts would be welcome.

    I have had this issue

since buying mine new. I find reverse is a little loose and it is because I do not get the shifter in the right spot.

Mine has ALWAYS been like that when it's cold and/or been sitting for a few days. It goes into reverse but just kinda lags under it's own idle power to actually go in reverse. It always seems to be fine after the tranny gets some go-time and warms up. Never really gave it much thought since it was like that from day 1. *shrug*

My TLC has always done that too, in fact when it finally decides to go into reverse, it makes a loud clunk & jumps a bit.

Since it's now sitting pretty at 1/4 million miles - I don't worry 'bout it anymore ... I just keep my foot firmly on the brake when shifting into reverse.

This is a common problem. Check your brake coonection to the release mechanism. I think some cold weather lube like graphite works here. It's all less complicated than it seems.

I'm pretty sure that my troubles on the TLC are because the Tranny computer doesn't talk to the ECM anymore. Crager, have you checked all electrical connections on the tranny & on the computer? May wanna check & make sure that your reverse lights work (that's one of the symptoms on the TLC).
