Identify which roof rail position this is?

One modified roof rail came with my most recent OEM roof rack purchase. (Along with a perfect condition fang).
    Can anybody identify it's position?
I took pics of mine when I sold them so I have these for reference.

Anybody want a modded rail cover? Dietz99vcross and vt_mav I know you're both looking for a single missing cover. The modded opening is 149mm long. Just pay shipping and it's yours.

If you have a full set to compare it to, I think you could figure it out pretty easily...

Otherwise, test fit it on all four corners of the thing that holds up your roof basket to see which position works best...

I would check it without fully clipping it on, since it appears that one of the tabs is already broken.

Well now, how am I goin' do that when I sold my set...all I have is pics.
I'll test fit it on "the thing that holds up your roof basket"...
Probably still of no use to anybody since it's been modded.
Anybody recall who it was that modded these covers?

Bart & Kenny for sure, & I think Navistar.
I know there have been others, but memory banks not fully operational this morning...

Morning Sue. Look on page 14 of the VX Parts Manual available here under downloads, you will find the part numbers for those. Hopefully they are also molded on the under side of the parts.

Thanks John. It appears the modding cut off the part that would have the part #. I'll play with it by just positioning it on mine. I'll see if Bart or Kenny want a spare.

IIRC, the position of the caps is molded into the bottom side too. (L/F - L/R -etc)

I know that doesn't help if it's already been cut...I was just showin' off......

It's hard to say from the photo. The front ones are slightly smaller than the rears.

Looking closer at it, I would guess its from the rear.

    Thumbs up

    Kat,
I'll take it if they're still available? I'd like to do that mod to mine, so this would be a great template.
    Peace.

Hard to say fro the pics but, I'd say Driver's rear. The fronts have more of a taper to them.

You got it! Just PM me your address.

I calculated shipping using my old Plano address, sure it's the same as yours, but it's so cheap it's not worth the PayPal transaction! It'll go out tomorrow USPS.

    See ya in May!

Thanks for the offer Kat, got here a bit late but it wouldn't have mattered anyway as I'm after the driver's front. FWIW, there's no part number printed on the underside of the covers, just their position (LF-FR = Left Front, RT-FR = Right Front, LF-RR = Left Rear, RT-RR = Right Rear).

Btw, interesting that the previous owner modded the cover by cutting away the entire back section (minus the tabbed corners). I would think that would make it more likely to pop off over time than if you just cut away the top.
