    Looking to refinish

    my spare tire cover.

    Anyone do this before?

I'm thinking just some Plasikote primer and then Gloss Black, but help me if I'm on the wrong track here.

Having never used plastikote primer, I'd be more inclined to use bulldog adhesion promoter (wal-mt, automotive dept) as a primer.
    But that's just me...

Also...gloss black? It'll show every mark & scuff.

Just throwin' it out as an alternative...spray on bedliner might be more durable, & EZR to touch up.

I did all the interior panels of my Mustang several years ago using SEM products from The Eastwood Company. It came out looking like new, and has held up perfectly over the years.

It's all in the preperation - Plastic Prep and Sand Free
I can't find the can for the paint I used, but it was probably this - Landau Black Interior Paint

That's it, I have been trying to remember WHERE I picked some of that up at.
Greetings, Earthling. We come in peace... Never mind "Paris to Dakar", the VehiCROSS looks ready for the Martian desert.

When I got my VX, the cover was really worn and faded looking. I used the bottled black shoe polish and buffed it into the cover. Its strange but actually worked well touching up the cover while keeping the stock look.

Something to consider is how will the cover match the rest of the interior after painting it (if you even want it to match).
