    Post Porsche Panamera---"Guppy"?

I don't know if any of you caught this Sunday's New York Times, they reviewed the new Porsche Panamera. You know what they described the front as? "A Guppy Mouth". No kidding! So when C&D calls the VX styling "serpent like" (YouTube review video 1999) or most recently in their April 2010 edition " fish- faced", take it as a compliment. Hang in there VX'ers, you will yet inherit the earth....of styling accomplishments, that is.

    What?!? The Panamera is beautiful.

I really don't enjoy car reviews very much any more. Way back when, I would read and was left with the impression that the author was a fellow car freak. I could relate to them and trust their opinion based in their experience.

Now… most writers act like bitter, sniping movie reviewers. Each article "must" contain something they consider clever but is closer to being obnoxious to some degree. It's a lack of imagination and lack of love for the topic. Plagiarism is so rampant that I'm often left with a feeling of deja vu and wonder if they actually drove the car or just the other guy's review (try to find an article about new Camaro that doesn't "cleverly" make a reference to mullets.) Now it's just a job with a deadline.

    Rant completed; I feel better.

I think half the Porsche's out there in general are pretty foul looking - 911's look like frogs or VW Beetles on steroids, the Cayenne looks like a bloated pregnant frog or a VW Touareg on creatine, and the Panamera looks like a Saab on prozac. FAIL!
The Fisker Karma blows away all competition in sedan styling in my opinion and the look of the Panamera was hardly worth the wait.

I don't care for the Panamera, the same way I don't care for the 4-door Wranglers and the 4-door VXes. It just doesn't look right, imo.

Zeus, the Fisker's not really as good looking in the flesh as in photos - it looks curiously distended.

I'll start up a thread with more pics and videos in a minute
