Punch a hole in their radiator so they can't leave the scene of the accident.

Mebbe I'll add some Ldub spikes:

Guys, I don't want to scare anyone but I had a thought yesterday.

No, that's not the scary part.

Our receiver is fairly shallow & the SuperBumper is designed to slide further into the receiver if it takes an impact. I plan on taking some measurements this weekend to see if it will 'bottom out' in the event of an impact. The reason this concerns me is that the end of our receiver is open which would mean that the first thing that the sliding piece would impact would be our fuel tank shield.

I'm probably worried for nothing but thought I'd mention it. I talked to Jeff & he indicated that if we need to cut the end off of it, it wouldn't hurt anything as long as you leave about 1/2 inch of material before the pin slot.

I'll let you know what I find out.

    Tom

My concern was justified - sorta.

    It's close ... real close.

There's 4" from the receiver pin to the fuel tank shield.

There's 4" from the back of the slot to the end of the receiver.

The bottom line is that you don't need to modify the SuperBumper for our application ... But I think I'll cut about 1/2 inch off, just for peace of mind.

    They're only 33x12.50R15

It's all in the presentation though. The offset makes em look bigger. (see how big I look by my shadow in the last pic)

The VX is MADE for offset!!!

Yah, you should've seen me lifting it back into place after treating the cladding & putting anti-seize on the studs.

I should've weighed it while I had it off - it's not nearly as heavy as it looks.

Looks good Tom, with the big black donut hangin' there, it's more proportional than the smaller one I have.
