YUM! I have some friends who restored a 1968 Firebird a few years ago. The black paint job is so over-the-top perfect and glossy that it's hard to photograph. Once they finish their '78 Trans Am SE, they will probable convert the '68 from "original" to "slightly modified." They rarely drive the '68 because a black car in Oklahoma isn't really drivable without air conditioning during much of the year (oops). Plus they kept the inline 6 with the 2 speed Powerglide transmission. People often look at it say, "I bet that does one heck of a burnout" and Edie's response is "Uhhhh.... no, it's almost impossible to break traction." They have a spare 400 & the appropriate hood stored and waiting for some TLC.
