When was the Vehicross designed?

While getting the usual attention from an interested person, they asked if it was new. I said, "No it debuted at the 1993 Toyko Auto Show and mine is a 2001." "Wow, it's styling is so futuristic looking." he replied. He thought is was a 2010.

Well that made me think how long ago the VX was designed and how even now it gets this kind of response from someone who has never seen one before. So does anyone know when it was actually in the initial design phase? 1991 or 1992 or earlier?

Good question. Being as though it was released in 93, I would imagine the earlier concept drawings should be from the early 90s or late 80s at the earliest, which is amazing to think about really, considering the stylings of most of the vehicles from that era...
