My vote went for wheel #4 the 8 Holers. I just like the simple clean look.

Also most people I know that have bead locks mount there onw tires at home with basic hand tools.

Another note that might sway your wheel choice is to check the center bore. As I am sure you know (if you have researched previous wheel threads) the VX's hub is larger than most cars/trucks which can limit your choices.

Yeah after reading some more I've started noticing a lot of reference to the hub size. I'll take that into account when I finally order.

One thing I regret, I bought aluminum rims. They look nice, and no rust, but they are so soft, and trail rash eats em alive. At least with steel wheels, I could just bang up back into shape I like the classics, or like billy said, the 8 holes.

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

Wonder if Teflon coate wheels hold up any better to trail beatings and mall parking block curb rash.

The teflon coating basically just makes keeping the wheel clean easier. Just like teflon coated pans...the road grime in theory just hoses right off...if it sticks in the first place. Teflon is a fairly soft coating thats why you are not to use metal utensils with coated cookwear...so if probably will scratch easier. There are a few VXers on here that have the teflon chambers that might chime in on how they have held up.

The threaded holes for the beadlock bolts should be blind holes. Keeping air in them shouldn't be a problem. If they are not blind holes ... run, don't walk away.

The bolt holes have nothing to do (directly) with the wheel holding air. The way a bead lock wheel works is the tire bead is squashed between two plates which creates the seal...yes the bolts need to be tight to maintain this seal. If the bolts are properly torqued you should have no problems with leaking (as long as the bead locks are properly installed). Jay runs bead locks on his FJ which is his daily driver and afaik has had no issues.

No... I like the thought of the chamber Pro's with the bead locks but I'm still not sold on them being right for daily driving duties. But it's close between those and wheel 3. I might look around a little for other designs too.

Is that a faux beadlock on the Chamber Pros or the real deal?

Aren't beadlocks illegal for street vehicles in some places?

There are several beadlock wheels that are DOT approved and street legal. All others are for "race or offroad use only". However, I have never seen anyone get stopped and wheels checked for DOT approval. Most (99.9%) officers would not know the differance.

Not sure if those are real 'locks or not...would have to check their site.
***Just checked the site...looks like they are fake-locks.
