They are absolutely bolt-on perfect due to the OEM rims without any further modifications; although the fitting is extremely tight, and just had to trim a little tiny triangle corner of front inner cladding (very common).
Just to be clear for dbp, that's the front outer corner of the cladding that you trimmed (and is a triangle shape), correct? Or if not, what part of the "inner cladding" are you referring to? I just pressure washed my wheel wells today so I was just looking quite closely at the cladding, liner etc, and am not sure which part you are referring to. Is it this piece?

Yup, that's the exact piece and location of the cladding trimmed triangle. I used the term "inner" (aka inner-side) as in the "interior" of the forward portion of the front fenderwells. Basically, where the front portion of the front tires swing "inward" towards the engine. BTW, nice picture and thanx for sharing!!!

Alright, after my brief loss of sanity, I think I'm back to the opinion I had before I even posted this message, that 33" tires are the "correct" size for the VehiCROSS. I appreciate you getting me thinking Riff Raff, and I agree if someone was to go 35" that the stock wheels are the way to go. However, the more I studied pictures, I realized (as I originally had), that the 33" tires just fill the wheel well properly. Especially with 913 springs... the arc of the wheel well exactly matches that of the tire. With 35" tires it's like sticking a circle in an oval... or like drawing a circle on an egg. I don't think this looks balanced at all:

In other photos I've seen of the 35" tires, the ones I've liked, it's always at a slightly off angle; front or rear 3/4 view. From this angle you lose the perspective of the circle on an egg, as there is also perspective to the tire, making it also look like an oval; An oval in an oval doesn't look bad; a circle in an oval does (as the photo straight on above shows). Perhaps that's why people photograph them that way? The view balls on from the side shows it nicely... 33's the way to go, for me... now just to decide if I want to stick with my original idea of the 17x8 wheels with 0 offset. I do think I like the slightly wider stance, and many people are running this setup.

MARLIN, I greatly appreciate all your input on the Goodyear's. Glad to hear your updated set is performing better. It was disheartening when the first review of the tires I saw on tirerack was yours dissing them. Hopefully if they continue to perform you'll update that review. Thanks,

    David

I agree that the factory wheels with black powder coat would look good! I recently had the same done to the stock 17" wheels on my other car. I dropped off the car and picked it up later so they also removed the wheels, balanced and put them back on. The total cost was $400 which included fixing some curb rash.

Just wanted to point out to other members who are shopping: I've seen that VX and that is not powder coat! The owner sprayed the wheels and cladding with flat black bar-b-que grille paint from a rattle can. (No extra charge for the over-spray on the tires and paint!) It looked "fuzzy" and sloppy and immediately began chipping off from the chrome. Three months later, it's even worse with dark spots from fingers where people have touched the cladding and thin places where the bird poo has been cleaned off. Too bad - if it wasn't for that paint, I might have bought it.
