So...been reading on accommodations. What're the opinions on all of the options? Though, from the sound of things it looks like choices are already made because of lack of vacancies. Camping actually sounds cool-- it's been a while since I've done any camping outside of Uncle Sam sponsored camping.
Any convoys out of CO?
THIS WE'LL DEFEND
I'm still working on this trip, trying to get my new toy together in time.

spaceCADET, many of us stay at the Red Rocks Lodge in downtown Moab (by no means a five star joint, but comfy). This is "the stoop" that you have probably read about, and where many of us gather on a nightly basis to drink, hang out, tell war stories and just generally enjoy each others company. There is also usually a good group of Zooers who will camp at The Portal campground, but it sounds like that won't happen this year and they will be going somewhere else.
It really doesn't matter where you stay, because it's really just a place to sleep, and there isn't much of that going on due to the late night antics at the stoop. There are quite a few hotels in town ranging from expensive to not so much.
It would be great if you could make it out and help us represent Colorado. There is usually a convoy that goes on that Monday as people who are coming from the East pick up more VXers as they travel across the country. I won't be able to make that this year, but hopfully someone will start a thread for it soon.

I just booked a room at the Red Rock stoop for the 15th to the 20th.
He said it was the last room open for that week. I know others were told the same thing, but it looks like we are really taking the place over this year. Not that it's any different from past years...
lol those would be TOYS, plural
Still waiting on my tires, picking up a new trans on friday. Then I'll start putting all my parts on. I've been painting it this past week, it was a grey color but I didn't like it plus the paint was all chipped and faded
It does look much better, Big-D; is it pearl white?
Sent from my "two hands on a keyboard"
Silk Ivory Satin lol. It actually looks tan-ish which is what I was going for.
You can see the original color here
Still waiting on confirmation so dont know if it will happen in time but I decided to get a different tent. Its a 4 season hex shaped dome thats only 10x12 so not quite as much of a taj matent.
I'm usually leaving denver between 10am and noon on saturday by myself. If you go on that day we could cruise together.Any convoys out of CO?

If all goes to schedule I will be staying in Denver Saturday night, and leaving for Moab 9:30 - 10 AM on Sunday the 15th.
