Its not even here yet and I already had to pick vacation days for next year. Hope they stay true to past dates and I got it right. Really sucks working for a school district sometimes. Everything has to be done way in advance and goes by seniority.

Now I need to call the place I bought a new tent from. 2 weeks and I havent heard anything.

Of course Sue, anything for you!!! Jay makes up get up super early to get on the road so we will know closer in exact eta to meetup. Original plan was to go straight to Gallup and meet you there in morning but now we are not sure we can make it all the way to gallup. we will get it worked out, sssoooooo very excited this year! AND sue I AM getting that camera with extra lens and case, seems real user friendly, I will let you play with it when we see each other! super excited .....need sleeping pills every night!

So, who plans on arriving early in Moab and what day...that way I know who to llok for the first few days that I get there. I will be there Sat evening, ready to wheel Sun morning (maybe even an evening/night run Sat).

Cece & I are planning to roll into Moab on Sunday... most likely will be convoying with Big Swede and others from the Denver area Denny's.

Plan to roll into the Red Rock somewhere between noon and 7:00 ish on Saturday....

....depending on how "ready" we are to start driving late Friday night!!!

It takes me 8 hrs, so add 90 mins or so for you.

You are looking at about 10 hours to drive from Phx. Quickest way is through Globe, Show Low, Holbrook...40 to 191 north to Moab.

So...I'm working on planning a massive, awesome vacation since I haven't had a "real vacation" since 2003. Those weekend flings in Seattle or MT are fun, yet unfulfilling. So I think Moab is in order. Though if I'm driving that far south, I'm not just going on some petty excursion...I'm making a true journey of my trip; pre-Moab I'm totally going to Vegas. I have one friend who is waiting on clearance for days off work and flying to Vegas from MT that weekend of the 13th-16th...anyone else care to join us for a weekend of drinking and gambling and other such shenanigans?

Also another important thing: hotel rates suck. Anyone else flying solo and want to share a room in Moab? I'm totally cool with bringing my air mattress and sleeping on the floor; I'm 26 and pretty resilient, I can sleep just about anywhere...I'd sleep in the back of the VX if it had a shower.

One more thing: I've never been offroad before. Is there anyone else I can follow who plans on taking all the easy trails? Like something akin to the bunny hill with skiing? My VX is bone stock too, lol...should I get new tires before I head south?

I'm really hoping I can make this happen...my last final is BioOrganic Chemistry at 3:00P on Friday the 13th, and I plan to either take off from campus and begin my trek to Las Vegas directly after (probably showing up in Vegas sometime around 3 or 4 in the AM), or going home, going to sleep, and waking up at around 3 or 4 in the AM Saturday then heading out of town. Not sure yet. Either way, I'll be in Moab the 16th or 17th...
