Question more in winter / power button ?

    Hi everyone...

I am a new VX owner....
    no manual....

I understand what the WINTER / POWER buttons do
    BUT....

Could someone answer this for me PLEASE ?

    Now I am in park...
When I press the WINTER button...
Should the button stay down ?
and the Winter Power stay lit on the dash ?
    'cause mine doesnt ?

    On the POWER button...it does...

So could someone test this out for me...
or is it already broke ?

Or is it only supposed to in 4L vs 4H ?

Sorry to bother everyone....but I have no owners manual !

    Thanks everyone !

Congrats on the new VX, I've had mine 4 weeks.

The power button stays on and depressed till you click it again.

The winter button just lites the indicator when you are stopped and goes off afterwards. Its made to make starting from a stop, under icy conditions, easier.

Power button changes the shift points slightly to give you better acceleration. Keep the button down however long you like. Some people claim they get better gas mileage driving with power mode turned on all the time. It does drive better, but I doubt higher RPM will help you save gas (quite the opposite). The 4,000 lb funky slug does feel peppier with power mode on and it doesn't do the slug crawl on hills with power mode on either. Try it next time. While going up a steep hill, switch from power mode to normal... instant slug!

Winter button starts the VX off in third gear so you don't sit there and spin tires in first gear on snow or ice.

Winter mode has to be selected EACH time you wish to use it - it is a momentary button that activates only when in D and stopped and then turns off at 7MPH.

    Question

    Thanks guys for responding !

    I am still a little confused ?

Like I said if I push that WINTER button....
it does NOT stay down and the light on the dash
    does not stay lit either....
it just flickered on quick ....
and the button will not stay down on its own ?
If I hold it in...the light doesn stay lit either ?
    It just like flickered ?

Unlike the POWER button which stays down and
stays lit on my dash ?

Again..I am stopped and in park ?

    I'm lstill ost ?

    ps...Jonnie, paulvx, and Tone
    thanks all for posting...

Again, the light will ONLY stay lit and winter mode function IF the car is stopped and in DRIVE (NOT 4 low, R, 1, 2, or 3) - it automatically turns off Power mode. Switch does NOT stay down but will light the light IF the above conditions are met until you reach 7MPH. See manual for more.

No problem, but its basically what I said. Search the archive and you can find how to get a manual.
