    Arrow VX Security System

The previous thread, which described in a vivid way the VX as an usual the center of attention, made me wonder about the negative aspects of getting attention from non-honest individuals. The uniqueness and beauty of the Vx can be a desired target of vehicle thieves anywhere in the nation, specially in these times that our economy is not in an stable condition. This goal of this threat is to remind all of you about the risks of owning a rare car,and also to share some ideas of security systems being used for some of the members.
Have your VX ever being broken into? or have been any attempts?
What kind of security system have you implemented to your vehicle?
Is there any advise that you can give to another member in terms of security?
    Have a nice Day !!

i tied my back door and hood into the factory alarm. had someone try to break in once. a neighbor called me about 1230am and said there was someone snooping around my VX, i went outside and the guy ran off. never had any other issues.

mine got broken into, so i put on a Clifford Avante Guard which buzzes at people snooping in the windows and encorporates infra red, glass, vibration and tild sensors as well as the usual imobiliser. Makes me feel better if i have to leave it anywhere

I keep mine garaged, most of the time. Still, I live in more that a little fear of it getting stolen.

But here's an interesting point: If I was to steal a VX, who would I sell it -- or its parts -- to? Who here would look that closely if a cheap OEM roof rack or a good set of cladding were to suddenly show up on the market?

Our parts are rare, yes. But until there's a market, we're sort of safe. But we MUST stick together if we're going to keep it that way.

yea thats one thing i am confident about. im fairly certain my VX will never be stolen. (knock on wood) im more worried about it being robbed and damage to the door, windows or my dash which is all custom.

even with my keys many people cant figure out how to start my VX (key + push button ignition) and once its started cant figure out how to get it to go (two shifters both with chrome shift knobs and boots)

so as Mdwyer said, little re-sale value for a stolen VX because of their rarity, you could joyride in one, but even that would be easy to be caught. and in the case of my VX, not worth the time you would spend trying to get it going for a joyride

It was an part as part of the Tone Door Popper assembly. Mostly, it was just a nice long piece of wire and a pin switch. You would install the pin switch in the back door and run the wire up to the similar switch at the passenger door. It made the lights turn on when you opened the back and also tied it into the alarm.

You probably could source the pin switch pretty much anywhere, but I'm not sure. My kit was missing the pin switch.

yep, I installed Tone's door popper which tied the rear door into the alarm and thought, hey that was easy! so I installed another pin switch under the hood that activates the alarm as well as a light in my engine bay
