I bought it off the guy and nothing happened and my check engine light stays on. He is a wonderful guy to deal with and gave me my money back right away. I really wished that it worked though.
Ah, the old IAT trick. This is a mod that was discovered by the F-body GM guys a few years ago and has been adapted for anything with an IAT sensor. Basically it's a $.10 resistor that you can buy at Radio Crap you plug into the cable that hooks up to the Incoming Air Temperature sensor wire on the intake tube. The resistor is used to fool the computer that the intake temperature is roughly 65-70 degrees which is much cooler than the actual temp. Since the computer thinks it's cold out, the fuel map is changed slightly to compensate.
This mod does work but you only get about 1-2 HP (not noticeable). It's worth the $.50 + tax I paid for the 5-pack of resistors and it only took 5 minutes to install. I also found that I ran a little rich when I used this mod and had ring around the tailpipe on my Chevy truck.
